I subscribe to a bunch of blogs written by Danes, and half of them write in English most of the time anyway.

Most of them are written by Internet-famous Danes; IT entrepreneurs, journalists, web designers, academics or "just bloggers". I find them through mentions on the blogs I already read or through mentions in a couple of Danish new-media podcasts I listen to.

And they keep accumulating, because it's hard to unsubscribe to a blog once you've subscribed to it. I don't have the compulsion that many folks have that I have to read all of my feeds all the time or else I feel that I'm behind on things. I just let the posts pile up and then once in a while I take a look through 10, 20, 30 posts on individual blogs.

A couple of times I've read blog posts in languages I don't really understand (Italian), but then it's mostly because I need some very specific information (like David B writes) or the new version of a WordPress plugin, etc.

Jan Karlsbjerg's last blog post..108 in 2008 - Three Month Status Report

Hi Isbella,
Several times when I've been looking for what has turned out to be difficult to find information, I've found what I need on non-English blogs, typically German. I'm not fluent in anything else, so I fall back on babblefish for a quick translate. Google has some tools for heavier lifting:
http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=EN

Its amazing whats out there. A friend of mine lives in Romania. Periodically she sends me something like a very popular music video of a 4 year old - amazing!

Drifting further from blogs, have you seen http://www.tun3r.com/ Radio stations from around the world - French, Slovanian, Greek.

Anyway - the world is a bigger place than we know...

David B's last blog post..3D TV

I subscribe to a few non-English blogs, mostly for the pictures, since I am very slow at speaking the foreign languages I do (sort of) know. There are a few interesting blogs out there (like this one: amis95.blogspot.com), but they aren't easy to find.

Hi Isabella,

As you know, I also speak other languages, but rarely read blogs in those other languages. Not strangely enough, the ones I read are in Spanish, particularly those of my friends in Mexico. But I would love to do an exercise in blogging wandering and find out more about non-English speaking blogs! If you find any good Italian ones I'd be thrilled :)

I'll start this Blog-In-Translation sometime this week and update you on my progress :)
